My idea for my bookcover is similar to this layout. I dont think i will end up using the same pics i have here but the layout and text is the direction i want to go with the cover. I want my book's dimension to be more horizontal rather than vertical since most of my pics will feature the horizon line. For the back of the book, im not really sure if I want text or picture or both..... any suggestions would be a big help!!

  1. I would suggest doing the 10x8 book. I like the idea you have for the cover. I think the pictures should be like the images in the book and be of the same location. I also don't think you need an image on the back cover or even text because your title basically says it all. Keep up the good work!

  2. this is very striking but make sure the whole design you use fits the shape and size of the book.

  3. I like the idea for the cover image. You could even just have a day image in front and a night image for the back cover and have no physical title or have it encompass the the book. :)

  4. Try using InDesign. That way you can drop in pictures and see if they are going to fit and if you need a bleed in order to make them work. If you need help, let me know.

  6. Maybe one on top of the other? It's looking good. Like the silver screen photo. It has more info to look at.

  8. LOVE the layout for the cover! The new pics you added are beautiful! I think if you maybe just put your statement on the back that would be ok. You're doing great so far! I can't wait to see more! :D

  9. Again, the cover idea looks great. What size are you planning? Full bleed or not? Suggested.

  10. I think the cover of your book looks really nice! I don't think you neccessarilly need anything on the back of your book though. The pictures look really great so far.

  11. i agree that the images should be of the same location for the cover, and that day on the front and night on the back may turn out well. the new pictures are looking good. how many images are you planning on having.

  12. I just love the front cover for your artist book. The text truly says it all pertaining to what’s inside the book. Try staying in the same spot when you take the photo at night as well as the one that you take during the day.

  13. I agree with JM that you do not need the text.

It might only be a super awesome image of day on front and night on back. I favor the newest images as they are more active and dynamic in motion, formally speaking.

Your statement needs some work as it tells us what we are supposed to see instead of talking about the idea. Let the images "show us."

  14. The cover will look more complete with duplicate photos. If you have a title text, maybe one that is not so obvious. The images convey day and night, but the title could be some off-the-wall idea to encourage the viewer to want more.

    Waiting to see more scenes!
